Celebrate South Beach Wine & Food at Freehand Miami
South Florida’s biggest food event of the year is upon us — it’s time for the South Beach Wine and Food Festival, and we’ve got a lot happening at Freehand Miami.
We’re partnering with the festival to bring in celebrated chefs and authors from across the country for several days of fancy cocktails, hearty bites, and sweet treats.
On Thursday, February 21 night owls can enjoy poolside bagels at the Broken Shaker from local hotspot El Bagel, 6pm until midnight (or when sold out). Expect stick-to-your-ribs fare like pizza bagels and ham and cheese-stuffed croquetas preparadas.
Next up, on Friday, February 22, Ken Oringer, the acclaimed chef behind Boston’s Uni, a contemporary izakaya, will take over the kitchen for an evening of creative, Asian-inspired fare.
Did you know that February 22 is National Margarita Day? Here at the Freehand, we’ve been eagerly awaiting the holiday, and we’re celebrating at the Broken Shaker with spit-roasted tacos and creative twists on the classic marg.
For the cocktail enthusiasts, on Saturday, February 23, the owners of one of the most famous drinks destinations in the country, New York’s Death & Co., will stop by to sign copies of their latest book and mix up some of their signature sips.
That same day, we’re throwing a poolside ice cream pop-up with Wynwood’s frozen treats favorite, Dasher & Crank, known for its quirky flavors like chicken and waffles and raspberry-wasabi.
To round things out, on Sunday, February 24, we’ve invited chef Abraham Conlon of Chicago’s award-winning Macanese restaurant, Fat Rice, to throw a closing barbecue. There will also be drinks by Masahiro Urushiro of the hit cocktail bar, Katana Kitten, in New York.
