Will Galvan + Classixx DJ Set

FRIDAY, 10/28, 8pm: This Friday is extra special at Freehand Chicago! Will Galvan will be taking over The Den from 8pm till midnight. Then, Classixx will be taking the stage midnight till close! Groove into your Halloweekend with some of our favorite artists and Shaker cocktails. (No cover)

Chicago Walking Tour + Strange Music for Strange People: A Psychedelic Halloween Party

SATURDAY, 10/29, 10am: There’s nothing like Chicago in the fall — immerse yourself in our gorgeous fall foliage and get to know Chicago from the Freehand crew! Meet us in the lobby at 10am for a free, escorted walking tour of Chicago. Lasting around two hours, we’ll start our excursion in River North, then head south to the loop and back again! (Free)

SATURDAY, 10/29, 8pm: After exploring the windy city, rock out with some of Chicago’s grooviest musicians! Hit up The Shaker at 8pm for a psychedelic Halloween party with us. White Mystery will be first to rock the stage, followed by Post Animal (pssst… Joe Keery from Stranger Things plays drums!) and DJ Dave Mata will wrap up the night with a bang. Enjoy Shaker cocktails and projections by Sara Goodman! (No cover)

Amazing Chicago’s Haunted Maze at Navy Pier + Happy Hour at Broken Shaker

SUNDAY, 10/30, 4pm: If you’re looking for some more pre-Halloween fun, head over to Navy Pier and navigate your way through Amazing Chicago’s Haunted Maze! From rainbow and spinning light tunnels to funny floors, mirror mazes and Al Capone’s catacombs, this maze is definitely tricky and chop full of surprises — are you brave enough to give it a try? ($15)

SUNDAY, 10/30, 4pm: Once you’ve conquered the haunted maze, head over to The Broken Shaker for happy hour! Enjoy $7 dailies, punch & dealer’s choices, $5 wine & draft beer from 4-6pm!

Northalstead Halloween Parade

MONDAY, 10/31, 7:30pm: Check out some of Chicago’s most amazing display of costumes at the Nothalstead Halloween Parade in the Boystown neighborhood! With over 2,000 entries in this year’s costume contest — this fabulous celebration is going to be one for the books! (Free)

Dia de los Muertos: Journey of the Soul Exhibit at the National Museum of Mexican Art + Jazzy Happy Hour Den Session

TUESDAY, 11/1, 4pm: Dia de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, is a Mexican celebration that starting midnight on Oct. 31-November 2nd. It focuses on the gathering of family & friends in remembrance of those who’ve passed away, in an effort to support the dead on their spiritual journey through the afterlife. Head over to the National Museum of Mexican Art in the heart of Chicago for the Journey of the Soul Exhibit and discover the indigenous roots and rituals of this fascinating tradition. (Free admission)

TUESDAY, 11/1, 4:30pm: Let’s give this Tuesday a jazzy twist! Join us in The Den with Dion Kerr and the Paul Bedall Quartet for a swanky, jazz-filled happy hour.  With Paul Bedall on piano, Matt Ulery on the bass, Charles Rumback on drums and Nick Mazzerella singing alto — this quartet will knock your socks off.

Letterpress Card & Poster Class

WEDNESDAY, 11/27, 7pm: Ever wanted to learn how to make your own holiday cards? What about mini posters? Learn the basics of typesetting and composing with vintage wood type, then pull your own prints on the 1950s Sign Press at Tandem Felix Letterpress! ($20)

THURSDAY, 11/3, 7pm: The Sculpture Objects Functional Art & Design Fair in Chicago is a top art event focused on three-dimensional works that cross the boundaries of fine art, decorative art and design. This totally inspiring event takes place on Navy Pier and is an amazing place to discover some fascinating perspectives of art and design! Head over this Thursday for opening night! ($75)
