Chicago Walking Tour + Chicago Oktoberfest @ St. Alphonsus Church
SATURDAY, 9/24, 10:30am: The best explorers travel by foot. Discover Chicago’s most fascinating landmarks and personality-filled neighborhoods with us on this escorted walking tour! Lasting around two hours, you’ll explore River North, head south to the Loop and back again. (Free)
SATURDAY, 9/24, All day: After the walking tour, head over to St. Alphonsus Church for Chicago’s legendary Oktoberfest. Celebrate German history Chicago style, with handmade bratwursts, live music and of course, plenty of beer! ($5)
Expo Chicago + Classic Album Sundays
SUNDAY, 9/25, 11am: Fill your Sunday Funday with artwork from over 140 leading worldwide galleries at the fifth edition Expo Chicago! This legendary celebration of arts and culture will feature panel discussions, curated selections of new media, film, video works as well as site-specific projects throughout the city of Chicago. (Ticket prices vary depending on event attended)
SUNDAY, 9/25, 5:30pm: After exploring Expo Chicago, make your way over to Saturday Audio Exchange to celebrate the legacy of Stevie Wonder at one of the most popular classic listening events in the world. This musical adventure will be featuring well-renowned Chicago music dealers and broadcast stations such as Transistor Chicago and Chirp Radio. ($5)
Reeling Film Festival: Almost Adults
MONDAY, 9/26: Spend your Monday unwinding at Chicago’s International Film Festival. Almost Adults is a playful, “platonic rom-com” telling the coming-of-age stories of two college roommates.
Tuesday’s On the Terrace: Joshua Abrams & Jeff Parker
TUESDAY, 9/27, 5:30pm: Head over to the Museum of Contemporary Art’s terrace for an evening of cocktails, fresh dishes from locally grown produce and free music. This week, Chicago native Joshua Abrams will be featuring music from his critically-acclaimed experimental album, Magnetoception. (Free)
Rose the Day Away @ Bar Toma
WEDNESDAY, 9/28, 5:30pm: Enjoy a mid-week refresher (or five) in the name of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Bar Toma’s is hosting a rose tasting with Chef Tony Mantuano’s delicious Chicago-style pizzas. A portion of the proceeds go to The Lynn Sage Foundation.
