LOW RES Studio + Freehand Chicago featuring Keelan McMorrow
LOW RES + Freehand Chicago are partnering to bring you a curated monthly art exhibit in the Freehand Hotel lobby, featuring local talent hand-picked by the creative team at LOW RES Studio.
This April we are highlighting Keelan McMorrow, an internationally collected visual artist whose unique style combines both realism and abstraction. “I’m trying to depict ideas, emotional states, and the trajectories of the human spirit. I like old religious works. I like pagan idols and old myths. I’m moved by limbs that act like hieroglyphs, flesh that speaks.” Of the many artistic voices in Chicago, McMorrow hopes his contribution will become part of the fabric of culture that restores and brings hope. “Human beings are capable of so many terrible things. I suppose I’m just happy to be a part of those human aspects that help us cope, that help us heal. At the end of the day, it’s all about survival, and survival for our species is about connecting. You just can’t do it alone.”
