Miami Neighborhoods: Wynwood
There’s plenty to do in Miami Beach, but if you’re a wanderluster there’s always room for a bit of exploring. We’ve done the dirty work, and over the next five weeks, will be bringing you the best of what’s on offer in our surrounding neighborhoods.
First up, Wynwood:
Not going to lie, the Wynwood Arts District is one of our favorite neighborhoods. Not only are there over 50 galleries, four museums, the Wynwood Walls, and Primary Flight murals available all the time, but the second Saturday of every month, a ton of artists open their private studios to the public for the Wynwood Art Walk, an hour-long guided tour of the nabe.
Wynwood is also home to The Armory Studios, a state of the art recording studio and event space, and the Wynwood Fashion District, the strip along Northwest Fifth Avenue where Miami’s major clothing retailers and distributors are located.
Where to eat? Next to the Walls, you’ll find the Wynwood Kitchen and Bar (tasty tapas) and the laid-back Wood Tavern (great selection of music, beer, and late-night tacos). We also highly recommend Joey’s (fresh, feel-good Italian food, offered indoors or al fresco).
