In late February, the nation’s best and brightest chefs came into town for the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, and here at Freehand, we were all in. Chef Tony Messina of Boston’s Uni put out a gorgeous array of dishes for its dinner at 27. Fat Rice chef Abraham Conlon threw an enormous BBQ, accompanied by refreshing cocktails by the team from Katana Kitten. Trick Dog’s Scott Baird took National Margarita Day very seriously, slinging drinks and tacos well through the night. And we’ve already gotten messages about doing a round 2 of our collaboration with Miami’s cult bagel sandwich shop, El Bagel (if you didn’t try that schnitzel bagel, you missed out).
