2 Aug - Weekend Roundup: August 2-4
Who’s ready for the weekend? (We’ve been ready since Monday.)
Friday (8/2) // Deaf Poets, Shangri-La + Jean Jacket at The Stage:
Head downtown tonight and kick off the weekend with a pretty sweet trifecta of solid live music featuring Miami’s very own Deaf Poets, Shangri-La and Jean Jacket (which just so happens to include Broken Shaker’s Harlowe G.). Expect a night full of aural goodness that’ll run the gamut from garage rock ‘n’ roll to dreamy synth pop, plus rumor has it that Latin Burger & Taco Truck will be on site serving up delicious late-night eats. The shows start at 10pm, and entry is free before 11pm. (Directions)
P.S. Heard the venue has great A/C.
Saturday (8/3) // Mad Decent Block Party 2013:
The pros: One giant (the biggest) block party; Major Lazer, Zeds Dead, Flosstradamus, Big Gigantic and more; all ages; too much fun for a Saturday (just kidding).
The cons: Tickets are scarce, but we found you some (actually a pro); $$$; it’s in Ft. Lauderdale.
In this case, the pros definitely outweigh the cons.
Sunday (8/4) Bookleggers’ One-Year Anniversary Pool Party:
Post up poolside with us on Sunday to help us wish our friends over at Bookleggers a happy one-year anniversary! Plan to swim, kick back with some delicious eats, drink a Broken Shaker cocktail or two, and mingle with the Miami literati. You know, just a typical Sunday afternoon, Freehand Miami style. (RSVP)
At 8pm, catch The Ninth Gate on the back patio accompanied by more Broken Shaker cocktails and complimentary popcorn.
