27 Nov - Your Guide to Art Basel
Take a deep breath, it’s that time of year again – Art Basel. Don’t worry though, from museum openings to parking garage shows, we’ve got you covered with some of our favorite picks.
Wednesday (12/4) // PAMM Opening Ceremony & The Drawing Room ft. Reed van Brunschot:
10am: Just in the knick of time the Peréz Art Museum Miami will be opening its doors to the public following a 9am ribbon cutting ceremony. Once inside you’ll be able to enjoy incredible works, including an exhibition by international dissident and genius Ai Weiwei.
8pm: Join us for round six of The Drawing Room in our backyard-cum-gallery for the subversive art of Peruvian/Dutch-American Reed van Brunschot and the digestible art of The Broken Shaker’s Have a Nice Day. (RSVP)
Thursday (12/5) // PISTON HEAD: Artists Engage the Automobile:
1pm: High culture and car culture collide in an open air parking structure for PISTON HEAD: Artists Engage the Automobile. For the past five decades, the art world’s finest (Damien Hirst, Keith Haring, and Tom Sachs to name a few) have taken to cars as canvas creating a collection that is sure to get your tires spinning.
Friday (12/6) // Wynwood Walking Tour:
All day: Escape the crowded galleries and throngs of people waiting for wristbands and take to the streets of Wynwood for a self-guided tour of the best street art Miami has to offer. Lace up your kicks and hit the streets!
Saturday (12/7) // Southern Freeze Hosted by Ben Watts:
2pm: Saturday afternoon our backyard has it all: art, complimentary WattsUp Rosé, pop-up lingerie shops curated by Valentine, Chia Pods samples, BBQ and our friends Timo Weiland & Alan Eckstein guest DJ’ing the affair. It’s almost too good to be true. Everyone’s welcome! (RSVP)
Sunday (12/8) // Sunday Broken BBQ:
3pm: All good things must end, including Art Basel, so let’s send it out with a bang. Toast to another great year of art and revelry with barbecue, Broken Shaker punches and live music. The action begins at 3pm. (RSVP)
