Your Guide To: South Beach Comedy Festival
Next week, this star-studded spectacular hits the beach with four days of side-splitting comedy. From April 17-20, catch huge names like Tracy Morgan and Sarah Silverman for under $40 and some seriously funny up-and-comers on the Lincoln Road Stage for absolutely nada. Here’s a quick sampling of some our top picks.
Amy Schumer‘s won a massive following with her sucker-punch combination of “Cabbage-Patch” good looks and an incisive potty mouth. She’s starring in new series Inside Amy Schumer which premieres April 30th on Comedy Central.
Pete Holmes‘ clean-cut sensibility sets him apart from his raunchier comedy counterparts, as does the deft precision of his observations about modern life. He’s putting out a post-Conan, late-night special “Nice Try, The Devil” later this year.
Michael Che’s unassuming, spot-on social commentary earned him a victory at the 2012 New York Comedy Festival’s Funniest Stand-Up competition and a spot on Rolling Stone’s “50 Funniest People” list this January.
Shows: April 18 at 9pm, April 19 at 9pm, April 20 at 9pm, Lincoln Road Free Stage (directions)
Sarah Tiana‘s a straight-talking Southern belle who comes clean about the pitfalls of singledom, sex, and success, both at home in L.A. and for the troops overseas. She’s starred on Comedy Central’s Reno 911! and The Burn, which she co-wrote.
